Amid champagne toasts, SatNews Publishers presented their first award at Satellite2015, and the deserving company is Comtech Xicom Technology.
As Hartley Lesser, Editorial Director at SatNews Publishers stated while handing the crystal recognition etched award, “I would like to present the SatNews Impact Award in SATCOM to Comtech Xicom Technology for their superpower TWTA product line. To the President of Comtech Xicom Technology, John Branscum, heartiest congratulations.”
“The Team” Mark Gray, Doug Morison, Kevin Kirkpatrick, John Branscum, Heidi Thelander, Eric Schmidt, Mark Schmeichel, and Mike Lange
Publisher Silvano Payne announced, “This Impact Award signifies the new product, or applied technology, that SatNews believes has, or will have, a significant impact on the SATCOM industry in the coming year.”
John Branscum stated, “On behalf of those who worked so hard at Xicom to provide the industry with these breakthrough products, thank you, SatNews Publishers. These TWTAs were made possible with Xicom’s development of new SuperPower technology.”
Comtech Xicom Technology, Inc. introduced new highly efficient, very high power Ku-band and DBS-band SuperPower™ traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs) that can double available TWTA output power and provide direct replacement for Klystron power amplifiers (KPAs) in satellite communications uplink applications.
These TWTAs were made possible with Xicom’s development of new SuperPower technology that brings proven space designs down to the ground and takes established millimeter-wave designs and scales them for use at Ku- and DBS-band frequencies. The result is not only the highest power helix TWT ever offered for these commercial SATCOM uplink bands, but also an extremely efficient, compact and reliable amplifier that can dramatically lower capital and operational expenses.
Since 1991, Xicom has operated as an effective force delivering timely solutions, pioneering new technologies and all the while continuing to grow.
Xicom offers an extensive product line of high power amplifiers for satellite communication. Products are available in rack-mount configurations as well as for outdoor applications and spans 2GHz through more than 50GHz at power levels from 8 Watts to 3KW.
Well known for reliable output power and efficiency, Xicom Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTAs), Klystron Power Amplifiers (KPAs), Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs), and Block Upconverters (BUCs) are used in broadcast and broadband applications throughout the world where customers need to increase power and bandwidth.
Xicom High Power Amplifiers (HPAs) provide power levels vital to SATCOM applications, both traditional broadcast, the DTH, SNG and flyaway markets, and emerging broadband, specifically the IP-over-Satellite market.
